How to check if all the domain DNS records are proper for Email Delivery

There are variety of mail analyzing tools such as https://www.mail-tester.com/. To check the domain MX record from your Linux system locally you can use the below command to know about the desired MX records.

  • dig mx microsoft.com

     ;; ANSWER SECTION:
      microsoft.com.      3586   IN        MX      10 microsoft-com.mail.protection.outlook.com.

  •  dig microsoft-com.mail.protection.outlook.com.

     ;; ANSWER SECTION:
     microsoft-com.mail.protection.outlook.com. 9 IN    A 104.47.54.36

Also after sending the mail, you can find the domain SPF and DKIM record status from the mail “show original” section.

Eg:

dkim=pass [email protected] header.s=x header.b=VXt1LIeT;

spf=pass (google.com: domain of [email protected] designates IP as permitted sender) [email protected]

Thank you!
